Here is my ideal rain ensemble: yellow jacket, red rain boots, blue umbrella. Clearly, being in the rain turns me into a Mondrian painting. I firmly believe that a yellow coat repels the damp more than any other colored coat could, as its waterproofness is half real and half psychological. I love this particular coat for its striped lining and big pockets, perfect for schlepping around all sorts of things. Here, I went for a rather practical under layer, of a sweatshirt and raw hem jeans. Practical! And sneakers, of course, though white sneakers + muddy woods ≠ practical.
